Environmental Policy and Action
The business’s main environmental impacts come from:

• travel;
• office activities;
• influencing other organisations in becoming more environmentally friendly (a positive impact);
• buying carbon offsets to make the business carbon neutral.

I travel by train for appointments rather than car wherever possible. Locally, I travel by bike, except when it is raining too hard!  In the office, we:

• use recycled paper (purchased from Harberton Arts in Totnes, also available by mail order online);
• recycle waste paper, metal and plastic bottles.
• buy electricity from Ecotricity (www.ecotricity.co.uk), who invest revenue in wind generation;
• use a laptop computer (less energy than a desktop);
• use energy saving light bulbs where possible;
• switch off appliances overnight and put them in standby when not in use during office hours.
